I have the fabelled Blue Screen Of Death on my other computer, so i'm in the position of now trying to reboot it. Now have the 2000 pro cd, but how do I go about rebooting it?
Once it gets to the blue screen you cannot do anything, so do I need to enter a setup elsewhere???

go into the bios and select boot from cd. to get into bios hit delete when u turn pc on keep pressing it till u go into a blue windowed area then go down to advanced(2nd one down i think) and there it will say 1st boot device, and u must change this to cd rom! then restart and it should read the cdrom and boot up from that!

Yeah can hit del, F9 or F8 on the next screen

Hit del on startup to enter the setup. Then choose that you want to boot from CD-ROM, put the CD in and try re-starting, it should then enter the windows setup.

is it crashing before it gets into windows? ie on the startup screen?
boot from the 2k CD & then when asked, go into the Recovery Console (press R)
type in the Administrator account password when prompted.
then do these commands...
FIXBOOT
FIXMBR
CHKDSK /F
then reboot & see if it works! 9 times out of 10 a bootloop is cause the boot.ini is corrupted or something, so the above can sometimes fix it!
if not, do a repair install of 2k

try my solution  has worked on about 4 computers for me in the past with this same STOP error

whack in your 2k CD
then boot from it (so its like your installing winblows)
get to the first screen 'Welcome to Windows Setup'...
follow it through until it says about using the Recovery Console (will say to press R)
press R
it will then load up a black screen with white writing... and then ask you to enter the Administrator password
log in...
then when at the C:\ prompt or similiar... type these
FIXBOOT
FIXMBR
CHKDSK /F
once its done all that, type EXIT
take out the 2k CD & try boot the computer normally - it 'might' now be fixed!
IF not... boot again from the Windows 2k cd, and then do a repair installation (follow the screen prompts, it will show you the way)

Am I supposed to go into one of the scrrens by pressing del, f8 or f9?
As otherwise all it ends up doing is going back to the blue screen 
I'm totally clueless
